PARK FISHING RULES |
 |
You must be a member of Seymour Land Conservation Trust, Inc. to be able to fish at Legion Pool. An Individual Membership now costs $20.00 per year and is only valid for the person who purchases the membership. Family Membership costs $30.00 per year and is valid for the person who purchases the membership, his or her spouse, and their children and grandchildren under the age of 16 years. Both of these memberships expire on December 31st. Lifetime Membership is a minimum donation of $500.00 and expires upon the death of the donor.
Everyone must carry his or her membership card at all times while fishing at Legion Pool. This includes the pool under the roadway. If you misplace your membership card, there will be a $5.00 fee for re-issuing said card.
This is strictly a "catch-and-release" fishing facility. If you see anyone not following the rules, i.e., removing fish from the water, using barbed or treble hooks, or injuring our fish, please intercede. If you ever need assistance, please ask a fellow Land Trust member.
You are not allowed to wade in the water. Bread, corn or non-digestible pellets are not to be used as bait. If the fish swallows the hook, cut the line. No fishing is allowed when the park is closed.
The Land Trust reserves the right to revoke membership at any time from those who abuse the rules. Violators of these rules will be prosecuted.
Remember, the fish are paid for by the membership. The State does not stock any trout in Legion Pool.
The Land Trust may close the park to fishing at any time. Examples will be: exceptionally warm water during the summer, low water due to construction, or the park may be closed for a private function. The park will be adequately posted when it is closed to fishing.
